Vision and Driving

Vision is imperative for you to have the ability to drive on our roads. Good vision allows you to clearly see: road signs, hazards and signals.

When assessing your vision as part of our OT driving assessment, we take into account:

  • Visual Acuity

  • Fields of Vision

  • Eye movement and co-ordination

Each of those areas cover your ability to discriminate details in an image, the area for which you can see (and the distance), as well as the ability to look at and track objects.

Your medical eye specialist will complete a fitness assessment report for RMS' records if they determine that your eye sight will affect your ability to drive.
